July 4th Camp Details


July 4th Camp - ALL MEMBERS
June 28, 29, July 2, and July 3rd - 8:30 - 12:30p.m.
(On July 3rd we will be giving the kids a treat at the end of practice.  They might not need to get picked up until 12:50)
Tuesday, July 4th Report 10:30a.m. Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. (Summer Uniform)
Any members in town should attend practice, even if for just one day.  If you have scheduled vacation (not work), this is an excused absence until July 30 when attendance is mandatory.
Since we do not take buses to this event (see below), families should communicate a place to meet up after the parade.  We end the parade at 181 South High Street.  (Ironically, Mr. Bradstreet's childhood home....)


- Report to Metro Place North (off of Frantz Rd. - by Max and Erma's) at 10:30am Wednesday Morning
- It's best to not drive back towards Metro Place.  Being dropped off at the traffic light of Frantz and Metro Park North is a great idea (with no instrument case)
- Students should report IN SUMMER UNIFORM (double check that you didn't receive Jerome or Scioto's Summer Uniform by mistake)
- We ask that the students wear white (or as close to it) tennis shoes for the parade.  Freshmen - we are not asking you to purchase new shoes but if you have white tennis shoes please wear these for the parade.  See Mrs. Reeves on Monday if this is difficult financially or logistically.
- Students need to have their instrument with them - DO NOT BRING CASES; LEAVE THEM IN THE CAR / AT HOME
- Students should bring a small (8 oz.) bottle of water to drink prior to stepping off in the parade (we will collect the trash)
- Students will need to arrange to meet their parents somewhere following their parade performance - We will NOT end the parade where it begins. The parade will end at 181 S. High St. Parents should either meet their child there or arrange to meet them somewhere along the parade route. ONCE WE FINISH THE PARADE, IT IS THEN THE STUDENTS' RESPONSIBILITY TO MEET UP WITH THEIR PARENTS.

*all students need to take their instruments home after Tuesday's rehearsal. This includes large instruments (percussion, tubas, etc.) - please make plans to be able to transport these instruments home!*

Summer Uniform Options for Gently Used Uniforms:

Are you in need of a summer uniform? Need a new size? Come to the Commons THIS THURSDAY FOLLOWING REHEARSAL for our Summer Uniform Swap-n-Shop. We have a variety of sizes in polos and shorts and even shoes! Returning band members: Bring your experienced, clean, good condition uniforms if you need to size up or size down. See you Thursday!

Band Camp Information and Required Forms

Attached to this email are the required forms for participation in marching band. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT FOR COMPLETING THE OHSAA PHYSICAL FORM FOR 2018-19.  Though physicals are not required for participation, this information helps the staff and the band camp medical personnel assist your child.
