Band Email 8-2-18

We've had an amazing week of practice so far!!  Our students are working very hard and they are having fun growing together.  Mrs. Reeves will keep you informed of the band camp items but I wanted to reach out and send you a quick email about some important, "non-band camp" related items.

Adjustment to the Schedule!!!!

The Dublin Coffman Marching Band has been asked to perform at the Dublin City Schools Convocation for all district personnel on Tuesday, August 14.  Because of this, we will have to adjust our schedule so that the kids do not need to be driven back and forth twice that day.  We will change the schedule to be the following:

Tuesday, August 14:
Performance followed by a rehearsal 7:15am - 12:30pm
Wear Summer Uniform
Please Arrive in Summer Uniform and then bring a change of clothes for the rehearsal that follows the performance.

Help Still Needed for Volunteering at the Irish Fest

Dear Dublin Band Community,

We have the opportunity to raise money for the bands at the Dublin Irish
Festival this year August 3-5.  We will have a booth selling water and pop.
We will need your help to volunteer time for this effort.  When you consider
your availability, remember that Scioto returns from band camp on August
4th.  Coffman and Jerome leave for band camp on August 5th.   If you are
willing to help please follow the following steps below:

These are the steps:

1.  Go to
2.   Click on the box called "Sharing O The Green"
3.  Create new account if you are a new user, or "forgot password" if you
are returning.
4.  Use the join code 18band.
5.  Sign up for a shift.

Thanks for your help,

Michelle Khoury, Band Boosters President
Jerome Band Parent

Band Camp (Mr. Bradstreet Tips)

Remember to bring the following:
Two towels for the shower and the pool
A small amount of food in a critter proof container
A small rug next to your bed
Baggies (love the baggies)
Flip Flops for the Shower
Bug Spray
Sun Screen
At least two pairs of shoes and lots of socks
Cell Phones don't work in the hills of Jackson County.  You can bring them but only to use as an alarm clock or to listen to music.  (Making friends is better than typing with you thumbs....)
*This is just a short list of important items I used to make sure I brought.  See band camp packet for the entire list.

At the conclusion of band camp, remember the percussionists need to stay a little longer to pack up the equipment for band camp.  I would plan on 45 minutes from the conclusion of our performance will be needed.  Please also see the email from Mrs. Reeves (will be sent soon) that will discuss a bridge being out near camp and we all need to take an alternate route.

We will see you at Band Camp!
