DCMB Band Camp 2019: Important Senior Information

Dear Coffman Marching Band Seniors and Parents,

This message is to inform you of 6 important items relating to Band Camp:

  1. There are four special events that are mandatory for Seniors:  Meeting after practice on Wednesday,July 31; Packing after practice on Friday, Aug 2; Loading and traveling to camp on Saturday, August 3; and Packing and returning from camp on Saturday, August 10.  
  2. Seniors EARLY DEPARTURE for camp on Saturday, August 3rd at 10am
  3. SENIOR DINNER – Thurs, August 8th at LaRosa's in Jackson, OH
  4. SUBWAY LUNCH – Sat, August 10th after performance and camp clean-up
  5. BAND CAMP BALANCES – must be received by Monday, July 29th

The senior class will travel to Camp Bountiful on Saturday, August 3rd. Seniors will meet at the high school at 10:00 a.m. Final loading will take place and we will be on the road by 11:00 a.m. During pre-camp, Mr. Bradstreet will discuss with the seniors responsibilities and expectations. School bus transportation will be provided for the trip down and back to camp on each Saturday. Parent chaperones will be carpooling Seniors to Sunday breakfast and the Senior Dinner on Thursday.

On the way to band camp, we will stop for lunch at Arby’s just outside of Circleville. Sunday morning, the seniors, staff and chaperones will have breakfast at Bob Evans in Jackson. Students will need to bring spending money to cover the cost of these TWO meals (approximately $15-$20).


Thursday evening, August 8th, will be the annual Senior Dinner. Senior students and directors will attend this year’s dinner at LaRosa's in Jackson. The seniors may want to pack a casual nice outfit to wear for this event such as khaki shorts and golf shirts for the guys and sundresses or capris and a dressy top for the girls.

You must make your reservation in advance at a cost of $15 per student, which includes gratuity. This dinner for your student will be buffet style and includes choice of: two pasta dishes (lasagna and chicken alfredo ziti), pizza, hoageys, unlimited salad, breadstick and brownies or chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Beverage selection includes unlimited soft drinks, water or iced tea.


Seniors will have a Subway picnic lunch at Camp Bountiful following the morning performance and camp clean-up duty before returning home on Saturday, August 10th. Students have a choice of 6" or 12" subs, including chips, cookie and beverage. We ask that payment of $6 or $9 be made at this time and order forms will be completed while at camp. At the conclusion of the Saturday performance, all seniors are to help tear down camp and return with the seniors on the bus to unload. We should be done by 4:00 pm.


Thursday Dinner and Saturday lunch reservations and band camp balances for Seniors are due no later than Monday, July 29th at pre-camp practice.  Please login below to complete the online order form.

NOTE: Only Seniors will be permitted to pay their remaining balances online using Paypal or credit card. There will be a $5 convenience fee added to your order. Or you may choose to write a check for your balance, and return to Mr. Bradstreet or myself on the first day of pre-camp (Monday, July 29th) with your payment and other forms.


As you know, there are a number of areas throughout the season to help support the Coffman Band program, including Uniform Issue in August, Annual Fund Drive on Thursday, August 20th, Bus Chaperones and Special Events throughout the season and of course our biggest area of need serving Fall & Spring Concessions. A separate email will be distributed to ALL parents in the next few weeks and we ask that you please take a moment to step forward and help out where possible.
