Important Details for Oct. 25 + 26
We have a scheduled Prelims performance in Indianapolis, Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium (Home of the Indianapolis Colts) on Friday, Oct. 25 at 12:00pm.  We also have a POSSIBLE performance at Finals the next day on Saturday, Oct. 26 if we are in the Top 10. For Friday, the students will be dismissed from school for the entire day AND we will be back in time for our Senior Night performance at our own Coffman Stadium.
To make this trip possible, we will be traveling by coach buses to and from this performance.  In defraying the total cost, we have allocated $3,000 of DCMB fundraisers (not DMB monies) so that the cost is a little lower for all of our families.
For Saturday, Oct. 26, we have a return trip scheduled to Lucas Oil Stadium for the Finals portion of this competition.  If we make Finals we will perform on Saturday night and if we don't make finals, we will be watching Finals and then returning home extremely late on Saturday night (Sunday morning).
To make this trip possible, we need to travel via coach buses and we have a link attached to help pay for the trip.  We've included $10 for Finals tickets in the event that we don't make Finals.  Total trip cost for two trips to Indy on Coach buses and Tickets to Finals is $70.00  This includes the roughly $2 service fee to pay online.

Bradstreet Notes:
Just wait until you see the ending!  We've not only cleaned up the last 6 sets but we've also added the Eiffel Tower ending which will be spectacular!  If you have plans to see the band on Saturday, you will get to see an outstanding marching band show.

We had a great talk with the students on Tuesday about how special it is to be a part of something amazing.  As a staff, we do not talk about winning awards or placement.  We talk about the process.

The kids are learning one of life's great lessons and that is to be in control of what you can control.  These kids have shown up to every rehearsal and tried their best.  They have worked hard in-and-out of the classroom and are performing at a high level.  For this, we are proud no matter what.

It is important for us to make sure that the students understand that just participating sometimes isn't enough.  You have to be engaged.  You have to be attentive.  You have to be willing to do the hard work that not everyone will/can do.

As we look towards the future, I am excited for our students in the Dublin Coffman Marching Band because they are learning what it means to be committed to goal.  There are many students who just go home after school and watch videos or play video games.  There are many parents that feel that this is OK because they do not see their children bored or causing them stress.  This mentality is detrimental in so many ways.  Most importantly, these children are missing out on creating real moments in life.  Never has anyone made life-long memories by watching a screen. You make life-long memories by engaging peers, creating relationships, by working together or just simply experiencing something funny.  This is the band!  As your son or daughter makes their way through Dublin Coffman High School, please always remember that our organization is designed to help everyone learn about life skills and we try creating memories and experiences that help build each student in ways that not every classroom can.

We hope you enjoy their last 4 contest performances!
